Strawberry Lime Agua Fresca with a Muddle of Mint

When life gives you lemons, you may well find it turns out to be a good thing. You could, for example, trade them in for limes and make this refreshing strawberry lime agua fresca. With a cool, tart, slightly sweet drink in hand, you’re all set to take on the world… and the next heatwave.

Be sure to use extra ripe, sweet strawberries. The high sugar content is key for a flavorful drink. Alternatively, substitute watermelon, cantaloupe or honey dew. Really, your imagination’s the limit.

This is gonna be good

In a blender, whirl together 1 cup of water, 4 cups of hulled ripe strawberries, the juice of 4 limes, and 4 tablespoons of honey or sugar. Pour through a strainer into a large pitcher, and add another 3 cups of water. Chill in the fridge. To serve, muddle a few mint leaves and a splash of aqua fresca in a glass. Add ice cubes and top off with more agua fresca.
