Stoup Brewing in Seattle’s Ballard Neighborhood

Stoup Brewing opened last month in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood, founded by two self-proclaimed “science nerds and a food connoisseur.” We stopped by one dark and wintry afternoon last week to check it out.

Inside, the look is industrial/science-y, simple and warm. They’re creatively using one wall of a shipping container to showcase the taps, which is fun. Walk up to the bar, and you’ll notice the bar stools, which look straight out of a chemistry lab. And the pint glasses are vaguely reminiscent of science class too.

Order a pint, or take advantage of the fun little slatted tasting trays to try a wider variety.

The beer was great. And if you’re feeling hungry, food trucks rotate through on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays (here’s the line-up). A crepe truck was parked out front when we were there.

We really liked this place. We’ll be back for more beer and follow their progress. We expect great things from this little brewing company.
