When you’re in New York City, bagels for breakfast is the right thing to do. And as long as you’re already doing a mitzvah, you can’t go wrong with bagels at Murray’s. In fact, Saveur Magazine described their wares as ‘bagels from heaven.’ We better go check them out.
Murray’s sits in Greenwich Village, a very fun place to visit.
So, how was the bagel?? The salt bagel was very good. Nice hardness and sheen on the outside, a tight crumb on the inside, and the perfect amount of salt. That’s a glass of fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice alongside. Jazz music played through breakfast. Our verdict? Great place. We recommend a visit to Murray’s Bagels.
Who doesn’t love a classic deli? There’s a few more pictures below. And, in case you hadn’t guessed, dear reader, Seattle Foodshed is in NYC for a few days. We’ll be taking you along on our restaurant explorations, for a taste of the big city. Coming next: A visit to Prune::, which Frank Bruni recently reviewed.
