A Tree Fell On the FoodShed!

You know that big snowstorm the Pacific Northwest just had? Well, we got a cute, manageable amount of snow at our house. But, down at the FoodShed on the key peninsula, the ice was too much for at least one tree, which decided it was cold and wanted to lay down on the cabin for a while.

Wow, Is That Safe?

Our intrepid neighbors are WAY more daring than we are. For which we are grateful. And also amazed.

Carla actually carried a live chainsaw up a ladder to Kate, who then chainsawed off the top half of the tree. Then, using the rope, we yanked the lower part of the tree extra hard, and pulled it clear of the porch. Mostly.

Carla made sure the tree didn’t go anywhere.

Then, we cut it up into little pieces, and we’ll have some lovely fir firewood for making biscuit on a stick this summer.

  1. Wow!! Stay safe. Looks like you should all be eating lots of soup made with all your wonderful veggies with that amount of snow around.
